Tellico River Road Campground Update

Keith Lannom, Tellico District Ranger in the Cherokee National Forest, reports:

The contractor has almost finished work at Stateline. It should be open for use by this weekend.

He is moving his equipment to Tellico River campground #6 next and it will close on Wednesday, Aug 16, 2006 at 8AM. Work there will probably take about a month, then we'll open it back up. It will be renamed "Birch Branch." Starting January 1, 2007 the rec fee for Birch Branch will be $10/night/site.
